A clean home shouldn’t have to come with a strong chemical smell.

At Fresh Nest Green Cleaning, low-tox cleaning in Edmonton is about more than choosing a label that sounds better. It’s about being thoughtful about what we bring into your home, what we use on your surfaces, and how we clean.

We use plant-based, biodegradable cleaning products, including our own hand-blended cleaning solutions, and we don’t rely on harsh chemicals or unnecessary fragrance to get your home clean.

For us, it’s a simple philosophy: your home should feel clean, not like it has been covered in cleaning products.

What Does Low-Tox Cleaning Mean?

“Low-tox” isn’t a regulated term, so it’s important to understand what a cleaning company actually means when it uses it.

For Fresh Nest, low-tox cleaning means taking a more considered approach to the products and methods we use in your home. We look for effective ingredients and cleaning solutions that allow us to do our job without relying on harsh chemicals or heavily fragranced products.

Our approach includes:

• Plant-based cleaning products
• Biodegradable ingredients
• Fragrance-free cleaning
• No harsh chemical cleaners
• Thoughtful product selection based on the surface and task
• Microfiber cleaning systems that help us clean effectively with less product

Why We Choose Fragrance-Free Cleaning

One of the biggest differences you’ll notice with Fresh Nest is what you don’t smell when we leave.

Many conventional cleaning products are heavily fragranced, often listed as ‘fragrance’ or ‘parfum’. That familiar “clean” smell can make a home seem freshly cleaned, but fragrance isn’t what makes a surface clean.

We choose fragrance-free products because we don’t believe a strong scent should be the measure of a clean home.

For people who are sensitive to fragrances or simply prefer a home without lingering artificial scents, this can make a noticeable difference in how the space feels after cleaning.

Clean should smell like clean. Not perfume.

Plant-Based Doesn’t Mean We Sacrifice Cleaning Power

A low-tox cleaning sometimes gets mistaken for simply using gentler products and accepting that the results won’t be as thorough.

That’s not how we work.

Our cleaning standards don’t change because we use a more thoughtful product approach. We still tackle dust, dirt, grime, buildup and the everyday mess that comes with living in a home.

The difference is in how we approach the job.

We use the right product for the surface, effective microfiber systems, and a methodical top-to-bottom cleaning process. Our goal is to clean thoroughly while being intentional about the products we’re using along the way.

A Cleaner Home Without the Heavy Chemical Smell

Every home is unique. Similarly, every wellness journey looks different. That’s why we offer flexible, customized cleaning. There’s a difference between a home that is clean and a home that simply smells strongly of cleaning products.

After a Fresh Nest cleaning, you shouldn’t need to open every window to get rid of a lingering artificial scent. We want your home to feel fresh, comfortable and genuinely clean.

Our goal isn’t to leave a scent behind.

Our goal is to leave your home clean.

Low-Tox Cleaning for Homes With Kids and Pets

Homes with children and pets have their own cleaning realities. There are muddy paws, fingerprints, food spills, everyday dirt and plenty of high-traffic areas that need regular attention.

That’s one reason we believe product choice matters.

We use plant-based, biodegradable products and avoid unnecessary fragrance as part of our standard cleaning approach. We also consider the surfaces we’re cleaning and how those spaces are actually used.

Low-tox cleaning isn’t about creating a perfectly sterile home. It’s about keeping your home clean while being thoughtful about the products and methods used to maintain it.

Why Recurring Cleaning Works So Well With Our Approach

Low-tox cleaning isn’t just about the products in our cleaning caddy. It’s also about the way we maintain your home over time.

Fresh Nest focuses exclusively on recurring house cleaning in Edmonton, with biweekly and monthly residential cleaning.

When we return regularly, we’re able to maintain your home rather than constantly starting over. We get to know the space, understand which areas need more attention, and build on the work we’ve already done.

That consistency matters.

Instead of waiting for dirt and buildup to accumulate, regular cleaning keeps your home at a more manageable level from one visit to the next.

And because our first appointment with a new recurring client begins with a deep cleaning, we have the time to focus on bringing the home up to our standard before moving into regular maintenance.

Our Low-Tox Approach Is About More Than Products

We believe a thoughtful cleaning service should look at the whole process, not just what’s written on a spray bottle.

That’s why we pay attention to:

The products we use.
We choose plant-based, biodegradable and fragrance-free options.

The tools we use.
Microfiber systems allow us to effectively capture dust and dirt while using cleaning products thoughtfully.

How we clean.
Our team follows a systematic approach so your home receives consistent care from visit to visit.

What your home actually needs.
Every home is different. We pay attention to the surfaces, traffic patterns and areas that need extra care rather than treating every home exactly the same.
